Killing power is calculated by seeing what percentage of a unit's points cost are made up per turn by inflicting casualties. So if a 100 pt unit kills an average of 3.3 10pt models per turn, it has a killing power of 33% vs that model, and will only take 3 turns to make up for its own points cost in victory points.
Killing Power = (Casualties Inflicted X Casualties Point Value) / Attacker Point Value
Enter in WS or BS to get close combat or shooting Killing Power effectiveness. Enter in WS of 11 for models that always hit on 3+. Note that this calculator does not yet take into the account of models that need a 5+ to hit in CC due to vastly different WS. Even if a unit does not have an invulnerable save, you can enter one in to simulate the effects of cover. For close combat power weapons, enter an AP of 1.
Once you have entered in the numbers for as many attackers as you like, press calculate. If you bookmark the finished calculations, the bookmark will return you to the completed form with all of the data you entered. You can also copy the URL of the results page to paste your results in to forums, etc. If you do this, make your unit names as descriptive as possible, with options chosen, etc
